Hey Everyone!! It's Mary with an Inspiration Post for you all!!

This is my first post ,so I hope I explain it clearly, anyways.
I found this new technique over at DeLish Scraps

Here I will walk you thou step by step.

You will need a few supplies, paints, ink sprays or watercolor pan. Some old plastic package  in variety sizes and  spray bottle with water. you will also need gesso and watercolor
paints, just the cheap kind that small kids would play with.

Step 1.) you will need to apply gesso to your white cardstock.

Step 2.) Apply some paint on the plastic wrapper- use plenty of water on the plastic.

Step3.)Spray water on your gesso paper where you want to paint.

Step 4.) Stamp the plastic down on the page and squish the paint around a bit.
Step 5.) Lift the plastic off
Step 6.) Repeat 1-4 steps as necessary
Step 7.) don't be afraid to add different colors, let colors dry before adding new.

 Here is my finished product.
It's really a fun and messy technique. I hope you
give this a try. Thanks for taking a look.

Mixed Media File Folder!!

Hey Everyone!! It's Elina with an Inspiration Post for you all!! As of late, I have been watching a lot of "Live With Prima" tutorials on You Tube and I love the different projects they create.
It was while watching a tutorial by the talented Limor Webber that inspired me to recreate this Mixed Media File Folder she was featuring.
You only need a few supplies and it's a quick and easy project to make.
Here is a list of the supplies I used and a step by step pictorial:

                                                      -Manila File Folder
                                                      -Gesso
                                                      -Paintbrushes
                                                      -Acrylic Paints
                                                      -Stencils
                                                      -Sponges

Step 1:
Using a clean, dry brush paint the gesso onto the folder and heat set it with a heat tool.

Step 2:
Once dry, add color to the folder in sections using the acrylic paints, of your choosing.
For my folder, I used two brands of paint from Folk Art and Apple Barrel in the colors: "Patina, Calypso Sky", and "Fuchsia".

Step 3:
I heat set the folder using my heat gun and after it was dry, I used some stencils to add texture to the background.
I used a dot stencil, heart doily and an open circle stamp.

Step 4:
For the last and final step, I made a flower stencil out of a piece of acetate.
Using a sponge and black acrylic paint, I sponged the flower in a few places on the folder.

And voila!! folder complete!!

I hope you enjoyed this project for today!
The possibilities are endless!
Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the rest of your day and Peace!! :)

Inspiration post by Margaret

Today is my turn to do an inspiration post.  I am sorry I am bit late loading this, (see my blog for more information)
http://granmargaret.blogspot.com.au/2014/10/inspiration-post-for-feeling-sketchy.html

I have made a card showing layering digi images

In Publisher I have divided the A4 page into 4. On the right hand top corner I have started by inserting the background from Pink Gem Designs and made a blue border, typed the sentiment.  Layered the seat, then the girl (Sweet Sarah), then the boy (Can I kiss you) from Whimsey stamps Young Love set, then layered the flowers from Whimsey stamps KKD Blooming border.   Have printed onto white card and coloured the images with markers.

I made this card this morning and posted it to my eldest grand daughter Sarah who became engaged on Monday.

I hope you will join in our challenges. (see the left side bar).

Have a good day.
